Course Overview

Fashion law is increasing in popularity and regulating it imposes a myriad of challenges for legal professionals, fashion designers, marketing firms, retailers, and law enforcement personnel. The challenges that arise are far reaching. Like similar practice areas, fashion law overlaps with other areas of the law. This course will primarily focus on intellectual property and address concerns with counterfeit and gray market goods. The following topics will be discussed: trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, right of publicity, counterfeit goods, and gray market goods.
